Starting with service: We were seated quickly and greeted in a friendly way, our waiter was helpful and made the experience good. He also brought us little things we didn't ask for like extra spices just in case because we seemed unsure. The food was fantastic, I got the summer rolls and tofu pad Thai, my date got yellow curry with tofu The ambience inside only added to the place and I love that orchids came on certain foods. Everything was high quality and overall this was an experience I would love to have again.

Food: 2.5 stars Service: 2 stars The restaurant itself was nice and clean, and the waiters were very knowledgable and friendly... But often absent or too busy to refill drinks, etc. the place is on the small side and we were waiting about an hour after we ordered until the food arrived. When we asked, our waiter explained that the "large party" of eight people had overwhelmed the chef. It would have been nice if our waiter told us that BEFORE we ordered, but no. We were held captive. I had papaya salad which was spiced just right. But, after a few bites the fresh flavors started to blend until it became just one note by the end of the plate. My dinner partner had chicken pad Thai. It was unusually reddish in color and he said it tasted strongly of tomatoes. Odd. After a while, he said all the flavors "blended together" too. Meh.

We just had a very good meal here tonight. The food was delicious and the service was friendly. We had a house salad which was crispy and fresh with a nice peanut dressing. I had Sauteed Vegetables with Tofu and brown jasmine rice. The sauce was a soy based sauce but light and delicious and loaded with flavors. The vegetables were plentiful, fresh and had good texture. The stir fried tofu was great but you can get pork, chicken or seafood. My wife had a Ginger Salmon Salad. This was grilled salmon on a crisp romaine salad with a ginger dressing that was awesome. It had a ring of fried eggplant as well. Yes, it is more expensive than many of the other Thai restaurants, but the food is very good and you have nice touches like an orchid on each dish. Plus a stroll down Park Avenue after dinner is nice. We enjoyed it and will be back.

The food here is ok, but it's definitely not my favorite Thai place. If anything's located on Park Ave, you can pretty much guarantee that you're gonna have a nice experience, and Orchid Thai is no exception. Service here is great and friendly -- even when faced with difficult diners. Our waitress was really sweet right from the get-go and gave us tasty recommendations. If anything, I remember more about the service than the dinner. Which is saying a lot. The food isn't memorable. It's decent, but not worth the price. You can go elsewhere for a more authentic experience. They do have a good selection of wines and beer to choose from though. The ambiance is nice -- kinda dark, if I'm being honest. It looks and feels like a restaurant on Park Ave. It's cool and trendy, with modern twists on Thai decor. There's never really a huge crowd, so it's good if you're looking for a quiet dinner in Winter Park.

Best Thai Food I have had in a long time. Praman Chicken is fabulous. I traded the Jasmine rice for coconut sticky rice which definitely added a sweet savory element. The drunken noodles with pork were drunk. Moist pork with spicy Thai add in the cumin and you have a winner. When in Florida do as the locals and go.

Nice restaurant and the food was pretty good but the service was not up to par. Our server woukd disappear for long periods of time and when he came back he would ignore our empty drinks and not refill them. It took a while for.our food to arrive after ordering and it wasn't busy at all. There was only about 4 tables of people in the place. When he took our food to box it up he was gone for about 10 min which seemed odd and I think our food got switched when he gave it back to us as my pad Thai left overs were not as spicy as when I originally ate them. Definitely not worth another trip from Sanford to Winter Park.

Orchid Thai Cuisine - had the Yellow tofu curry. Simply amazing. Love this place. It's worth the drive a little farther down Park Avenue.
(5)Autumn S.
Not the best Thai in Orlando. Curry is quite bland but appetizers are pretty good. My husband and I enjoy walking down Park Avenue and grabbing a few appetizers to picnic outside with. We prefer the summer rolls (which are actually quite good), Golden purses, and Chicken satay. Dinners can be quite pricey but you're on Park Avenue so you're paying for the location more than the quality of food.

This restaurant has to be #1 on my list for Thai cuisine restaurant, no argument. Food are absolutely delicious. I ordered shrimp padi Thai and that food met my expectations. I definitely will come here again! Not only their food are amazing, but my waitress Olivia made us, a family, very welcomed and I love it. If this restaurant offer employee of the month, Olivia definitely earn this award. I have a great and positive experience.

I love Thai food so I've tried quite many Thai restaurants all over Florida. This one is definitely one of my favorite and I would love to go back! I've always wanted to try this place but I always ended up going to Prato (nearby Italian restaurant) when I am in Park Ave. For Monday lunch, I took my mom to Park Ave but Prato was closed so I tried this place. And it was such a fabulous choice! I loved the ambience. It was a beautiful sunny day so we dined outside. Ordered summer rolls with shrimp added for appetizer. Thai Tea for drink. Pad Thai for my mom and Panang curry for myself. They were all excellent!! All food were priced right for lunch and the portion was very satisfying as well. I asked the server for recommendation for their best curry and he recommended panang curry. It was a bit salty but delicious!!! Not only the food was yummy, the decor was nice too. They use all real orchid for decoration! I love this place and I will be going back for sure! Overall, Great Ambience + Great Food + Great Service =
(5)Paul S.
Fantastic, love the ambience, small, very clean, outstanding service with a smile...great portions and reasonable prices...for Winter Park ;-) We had a small mix up with my wife's lunch entree, I ordered a shrimp yellow curry, which was outstanding, she ordered Chicken Pad See Ew, her's came out with shrimp, not a big deal, but they handled it properly, the initial server came over an apologized very nicely and they made a fresh dish, which did not take too long at all...the noodles were cooked perfectly, right amount of sauce and it had plenty of chicken and egg, which my wife loved.
(4)Angelique V.
First timer...went on a Thursday night after work and sat outside on the patio. We loved the mussels and the Thai tea. The shrimp Tom yum soup was flavorful with two large shrimp in each bowl. The pad Thai is really mild, so next time I am ordering it with more kick to it. The Panang curry was quite flavorful. Portions here are pretty large and enough to share. We all had leftovers. All in all, a solid 3.5-4 stars.
(4)Adam S.
They don't have mee krob anymore! Orchid had the best mee krob I've ever tasted, and it's no longer on the menu. Oh well. The food is a little overpriced (especially for dinner) but so is everything on Park Ave. I ordered Ginger Chicken and my date ordered sautéed vegetables with steak. Both had underwhelming flavor and spice. But the service and the presentation are 5-star. Every dish (and some drinks) are topped with purple orchids. Plenty of outdoor seating your you and your dog!
(4)Jenna C.
Great Thai food on the avenue! They offer a GF menu which is super helpful! The restaurant is very clean and the food is always fresh.
(4)Aranya M.
The food is good, not great; but they get props for presentation AND for being one of the few Thai restaurants to serve a traditional serving of sticky rice in a weaved straw container. The Som Tum (traditional green papaya) lacked some spice and was a little bitter, but the marinated beef jerky with sticky rice is wonderful.
(5)Tiffany G.
The food was incredible BUT the service was so slow. We were there for more than 1.5 hours. And it took 30 minutes to get salad tolls... THEY ARE RAW! Now, it was a Wednesday night at 7:45... It's not like it was in the middle of a rush. She was super sweet but if I want a "dining experience" I'd go to Luma. I'll give it another shot but not if I'm in a hurry.
(2)Punya N.
I wanted so much to like this cute little Thai restaurant in Winter Park. The service was great (4 stars), but the food was just "meh". We ordered chicken satay (free Yelp check-in offer!), yellow curry, red curry, and pad thai. The chicken satay was amazing (I could have eaten two orders of this on my own, the peanut sauce was so addicting), but all of the other items were so-so. Prices were to be expected given the restaurant's location on Park Ave., but not worth the food. The curry flavors weren't bold, and the pad thai had an odd vinegar-like taste to it. I would come here again just for the chicken satay, but I don't know how many of you love chicken satay as much as I do.
(2)Jessica G.
If I could give less then one star I would. I ordered the ginger chicken and it didn't come as described. It was only chicken and spinach, no other vegetables and they also forgot the rice. After waiting an hour and a half for my food I asked for the manager. He didn't really care or even try to fix my food all he did was comp it. The server Devon was great none of this was his doing. But two hours and all I got was a bottle of sake so not worth it. Two hours of my birthday wasted! Never coming back here again
(1)Lauren Y.
The food is average, not the best Thai food in Orlando. I've tried Orchid on two occasions, once for appetizers and the other for a meal. The food isn't inedible I just wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal. Great location on Park Avenue but the flavors aren't memorable and most items were quite honestly bland. Thai food should be exploding with flavor and sadly all the dishes I've tried here are just average.
(2)Michelle S.
Server was friendly, food and tea was good. I like Thai food but it felt a little more fast food than sit down. Good for the price though.
(4)Scott B.
Amazed to see poor reviews here. One of the many reasons I don't trust the people of Orlando's taste for cuisine.
(5)Brit S.
I noticed a lot of average reviews which made me hesitant to try this spot right off park ave. Location, staff and service were all great. And I have to say, my entree was great too! I found my pad thai to be exactly what I was looking for, flavorful with a bit of spice. the spring rolls were not my favorite. Far too sticky and the texture was very chewy. The prices could be better, but the location explains that issue.
(3)Ashley E.
Gotta be honest: Went here for the first time this past weekend, and wasn't really that impressed. Below average quality food product. There are actually countless other places in the Central Florida area I could find way better thai cuisine. The service was good, however, and the weather was amazing so it made for nice outdoor dining. I doubt I'll be returning here.
(2)Colleen B.
Boris was a fabulous server, he really made the experience very lovely. Earlier in the evening we had stopped in here because they were participating in the Winter Park sip & stroll. I realized I had never dined there and knew Yelpers loved this stop. So, we grabbed dinner here later in the evening. We started with two suggested apps from Boris - the golden purses were my fav, light but full of flavor and a great start to the meal. There were multiple too so this is a great sharing plate. For my entree I went with the Bangkok Salmon and it was HUGE! Such a large portion of amazing, fresh veggies with a deliciously seasoned and cooked perfectly piece of Salmon. It was so large that I had 2 plates for the next days lunch and dinner. It was light and tasty and I would highly suggest this plate to anyone. Overall the ambiance was so calming even though it was a smaller place, it was somewhat empty at 9pm on a Thursday and if you want, there are some outside tables. A really great experience and a new favorite place on Park Ave!
(4)Kevin S.
Great casual place with well done traditional Thai food. Presentation and food preparation was well done and service was appropriately attentive. Good value and very tasty.
(4)Jennifer P.
Intimate environment with amazing Thai food. We had the Pad Thai which was great! The massaman curry chicken was absolutely delicious. We also had Thai donuts and the coconut ice cream with jack fruit and wow! A perfect ending to this great meal. The restaurant is in the quieter park of park ave. Very cute and clean with some outside seating. Great location for small groups or couples. The service was a bit slow but it allowed us to enjoy our conversations.
(4)Richard I.
One of the managers, Devin, explained the menu and helped us with our choices. First course, Spring rolls with shrimp, superb. Second and third of Larb and Pad Thai were some of the best I've ever had. Service 5*. Food 5*. Ambiance 5*.
(5)Ian M.
I tried this place earlier today and was very disappointed. They forgot like 2 orders of rice. The sticky rice felt like just regular rice but undercooked. The portions were quite small and the flavor was nothing special. Ive been to quite a few Thai places and this one ranks near the bottom. At least they were clean. I don't plan on eating here again.
(2)Steve A.
Unfortunately another Park Ave. restaurant with the fame of high prices on menu that does not deliver in quality and freshness. Portions small on appetizers was very disappointing and average in flavor. Main dinner entree was sadly to say lacked a chef in the kitchen. Poor execution from the broccoli to shrimp being over cooked. Basically, if any item had to be exposed to a heating element it was not encouraging to eat. Returned entree mgr agreed on the quality and poor execution asked if I wanted something else which was good on his part. Service was average nothing to be excited. Place needs to focus on the basics before the presentation in my book.
(1)Leighton L.
This place is ok. The dumpling soup was a huge disappointed the broth had no flavor and tasted like tap water. The guy who took my phone order was clueless. I didn't know till I got there that things I ordered they ran out of. When I asked him why didn't you call me or check while I was on the phone, he goes well I didn't take your number. I hope to find a good Thai place soon and this one isn't that cheap either.
(2)Aimee W.
It's not that often that I'll rave about a $3 salad... But I will today. First off, if you're in search of a great outdoor table on park avenue, impeccable service and great Thai food .. You've arrived. I have dined here on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The wine and beer selection is impressive and chosen to pair with the dishes served. Order one of four different curries, the Thai basil, or the duck! I love their Thai beef salad, but my favorite starter is the cucumber salad ... But I order it with the cilantro lime dressing, $3 of pure heaven! It also soothes the palate when eating spicy foods (you will always be asked how spicy you want your food prepared .. No worries!). The plated presentations are beautiful .. Towers of prawns and orchid garnishes .. It's truly a vision. This place is moderately priced and worth every penny.

My husband and I decided to try a different Thai restaurant than our usual, so I immediately searched Yelp for advised gluten free Thai Restaurants in Winter Park....Orchid came up right away, we decided to check it out and I am SO happy we did! We are major curry fanatics (and critics) and both have allergies to gluten. Immediately my husband and I were greeted with understanding and compassion to our allergies (a welcomed change!) And were given full gluten free menus. We started with a flight of sake, and decided we liked one enough to get a bottle! :) We also ordered two orders of summer rolls. The summer rolls were delicious and the peanut sauce is up there with one of the better ones we have had in Orlando. For our entrees we shared one massaman curry and one panyang curry. They were both delicious and will be getting the massman curry again (soon) hands down. Husband also preferred this one, it was wonderful! We went to Orchid on Sunday 3/22/15, (after the WP art show) no reservations and they had plenty of seating, and large enough to accommodate someone with disabilities/in a wheelchair. We will be back SOON!! DELICIOUS!

Wonderful experience here! I met the owner before my first visit, Sumalee is a professional who takes pride in her restaurant. Terrific, straightforward menu. Not very different from what you would expect from a Thai restaurant, but the selection was simple and refined. We started with the coconut soup and the lollipop chicken; both fantastic. The soup had a well balanced coconut flavor, and the lollipop chicken was a unique treat: tasty and savory. Both great introductions. Our entrées were very yummy and presented beautifully. Our particular waitress wasn't overly friendly, but she was certainly competent. A nearby server was extra friendly and refilled our drinks and answered questions while our server was tied up. We had two appetizers and two entrées for lunch for just under $40. A bit pricy for lunch, but we enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and food well enough to return.

I've tried several things here and I can't name just one as my favorite. I've never tried something I didn't like here. The wait staff was friendly and attentive too. Delicious!!
(4)Samone L.
I love this place and I love the owner!! She is just amazing and so friendly. The food I love love love. The prices are decent, the customer service is ok not too bad. My favs are the Summer & Spring rolls, the currys are GREAT!!! The owner actually introduced me to mieng kum which is very nice I must say. The place is small and just so cute
(4)Michelle S.
On a recent food tour, we stopped at Orchid Thail Cuisine. We began our visit with chicken satay with a peanut sauce and cucumber relish to dip. I could have eat the cucumber relish alone, it was sweet, crunchy and had a slight heat to its finish. Everyone commented that the chicken was flavorful and perfect without any accompaniment, and I would agree. Next we sampled a platter of dumplings, curry puffs and golden purses. I'd be interested in visiting again to try some more dishes. The shop is super small, so expect a wait. The wait staff was courteous and helpful.
(3)Melissa J.
Great food and exceptional service from Sean. Very attentive and genuine young man. I had the tom yum soup and crab -chicken lollipops. My niece had the pad Thai and enjoyed the spice! The jasmine green tea was fresh and tasty.
(5)John C.
Panko calamari for our free appetizer (yelp check in) was great. Nice sauce to dip in. My wife had the yellow curry with chicken. "It was delicious". My daughter had the drunken noodles which she loved. I had the Masamann tofu curry (tai hot) WOW that was great. My daughter even took my picture (no I am not posting) to show me that I looked like I had been crying. Face red and sweating from my eyes. I like it hot. We will be returning!!
(5)Jessica E.
Don't advertise that you're open until 10 if your kitchen closes at 9. Disappointing and misleading.
(1)L.J. M.
Lovely ambiance inside and charming sidewalk cafe seating outside, as well as a pretty bar with counter seating. Great food everywhere. Very good service.
(5)Steve L.
The food is great here and the service is normally top notch. Unfortunately they have one male server who claims he's from Delaware that is the worst and most obnoxious server around. He was rude and loud and does not reflect this place. Great spot just avoid this guy, he's a zero. The water guy helped us more than the server
(3)Brittany W.
I shouldn't even give this place two stars, but the waiter was on point, so these two stars are for him. I asked for my pad thai THAI HOT, it was less than mild. the pad thai noodles were so overcooked they were sticking together, practically no veggies the dish was mostly noodles. very disappointing, obviously it was overpriced because it was on park ave, but thai house or sea thai is definitely the place to get amazing thai food. NOT ORCHID.
(2)Mark D.
I've been to Orchid Thai many times. It's always very good. I had the Panang Curry with chicken for lunch today. It was delicious. The weather was really nice, so we sat outside on the Avenue, which is always good for both people AND dog watching. Haha! Lastly, whether you sit inside or outside, you're always surrounded by lovely orchids
(4)Teresa S.
Awesome as usual! Had the Drunken Noodles tonight and it might be my new favorite! I also had the Orchid Salad for the first time, and I MUST say the ginger dressing here rivals all ginger dressings in CFL. Topped my meal with a decaf got green tea for my sore throat and enjoyed a late date with my man who loves his red curry shrimp! I love Orchid Thai, and tonight they had extra Orchids everywhere, and it was quite romantic. Now, only if we get get fellow diners to not hit people in the head with their giant purses as the walk by, that would be great!! Lol
(5)Fady S.
Good quality Thai food with Park Ave prices. Great service and pretty solid check-in deal (free app). If you're in the mood for Thai and are strolling down Park Ave, this is your spot.
(4)Cecille R.
Dined here recently with our pups outside during the Doggie Arts Festival. We've been to plenty of Thai places but have never tried this place out. We were pleasantly surprised. Both my husband and I went with the pad Thai and I had a Thai iced tea. Also had the spring roll appetizer for free thanks to checking in on Yelp! Portions were huge and I had lunch for the next day. Prices are steep but expected since they are on Park Ave. I probably won't go out of my way to dine here because of the pricing but it is a nice option if you are in the area and craving for Thai food.
(4)Sana S.
Thai food is my favorite cuisine and this place is good but just average. My 2 friends and I split: Tom Yum Massaman Curry with Chicken Drunken Noodes with Chicken We got the Chicken Satay Appetizer for checking in on Yelp. This was the most amazing thing we had the peanut sauce was super tasty! The service was great, super friendly staff but like I said, thai food is my absolute favorite cuisine and every dish was simply average at best. I am still on the hunt for MIND BLOWING THAI FOOD! My search continues!
(3)Chelsea W.
This is my favorite Thai place in the Orlando area! I work in Winter Park not too far from Park Ave so my best friend and I like to stop here for lunch when we are craving something really yummy. I almost always get the Massaman Chicken and she gets the Praram Chicken (not sure on spelling there..). We get the lunch size and it is a little pricey but good portion size and if I had room to eat it all and lick the plate clean I would. The ambience inside is nice, on a Fri/Sat night there is a mixture of people on dates (dressed up) but I have been there in jeans and felt comfortable too but overall i sit outside more often than not. I would recommend making reservations if you go for dinner on a Fri/Sat night, especially if the weather is nice to sit outside but if you go any other time you dont need a reservation. Overall... Pros: *food is awesome, doesn't taste fatty or rubbery like some Thai places *wait staff has always been great *right on Park Ave so its great to sit outside Cons: *Pricey (but its on park ave so...what isn't?)
(5)Stephen R.
We're big Thai food enthusiasts - this one really kind of befuddled us. Neither of our entrees tasted even remotely "Thai". There was zero spice (we ordered "Medium", usually that comes with at least a little spice), and the overall flavor was kind of a run of the mill brown stir-fry sauce. It wasn't necessarily bad, it was just sort of... meh. Appetizers were decent though, and service was impeccable.
(3)Carla T.
I love this place. The food is great and I like the outdoor seating so I can bring my dogs. Love the thai ice tea and how they decorate the plates with orchids. Some locally grown and organic ingredients. Which is always a plus. Prices just a little high.
(4)Marcy E.
My husband and I went here for a date night on a Friday and it was a pretty good time. I love the atmosphere and the location is great (we usually park at the garage because the street parking is usually packed). The waiter was wonderful with his suggestions for our drinks. I'm not really a great wine drinker, but I kept an open mind and he suggested Nine Vines and it was very delicious. The food was very flavorful and left plenty for leftovers. I had the pen woonsen with shrimp which was good except that the tails were left on, which I'm not a fan of, but the shrimp was still cooked perfectly. My husband had yellow curry and also really enjoyed his meal. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because I felt they could have done a lot better with their Friday night dinner rush. We almost left because it seemed like the hostess forgot about us.
(4)Jeff B.
This is just another one of those great little Winter Park date night spots. Its not the biggest place but they have a reasonable about of outdoor seating which I like better on nice nights. The last time I went we didn't actually even get any entrees because we just kept wanting to try things so instead we just kept ordering appetizers. It was wonderful. They have a small but good selection of sake which complemented the meal perfectly. The staff was great to us, being very attentive but not intrusive. If its a place you haven't tried yet, just go once and decide for yourself.
(4)Jenny H.
We both thoroughly enjoyed both of our meals. My boyfriend ordered the soft shell shrimp. He was excited about his order as he had only eaten soft shell crab never soft shell shrimp. He was very impressed with the overall texture and flavor of the dish. I ordered the Panang Curry with shrimp. I have had curry at other restaurants and have not enjoyed them as much as I did at Orchid. The ingredients were very fresh and I could tell everything had been made to order. The amount of seasonings were added perfectly as well as the level of heat that I selected. Another perk was that we were able to bring our puppy and sit outside. The only negatives would be the summer rolls did not have any meat in them; they were rice on rice and the service was a little slow. Overall though, great experience.
(4)Eric R.
Wow, super disappointing. I ate here a few months ago with my wife while visiting the Morse museum (great museum, by the way). The Winter Park downtown area is very nice and inviting. We sat down outside as the weather was great. We had the coconut chicken soup, Thai beef jerky, and two types of curry. The soup was very bland, the beef jerky was average, and the curries lacked flavor and spice (we asked or medium spiciness and there was no heat at all). If you have never had really good Thai food, this might be fine. But I can't imagine anyone wanting to eat here after having eaten the real thing.
(2)George B.
For the second thai restaurant I've tried in fourteen years in Florida, I loved it! Got to speak to the owner and learned that all the recipes were her mothers and passed down in the family. I had the Thai beef w sticky rice as an app...entire table loved it! At the table, we also got their version of crab ragoons and also chicken spring rolls ...all very good. The only downside was the apps were small portions. For dinner, I had the traditional pad Thai with chicken and shrimp. It was excellent! I was a bit skeptical if I would be full based on the app size but the dinner portion was great if not a little on the big side. As I said I got chicken and shrimp but only got three shrimp in the dish. I would have hoped for a bit more for a 16 dollar dish but excellent none the less. Dessert was also amazing...coffee ice cream with some fried banana roll...heavenly. The restaurant didn't get five stars in my opinion because the service was a bit slow. Amazing server though, Richard but I think he was given too many tables. I definitely will be back but next time I may try the Chef Table which I learned they have along with cooking classes. The chef table is reasonable at $70 a person for four courses of your choice with wine and a menu of your choice. Overall though...I loved a lot about this restaurant from the small intimate atmosphere to the very sweet owner. When in winter park and craving Thai, orchid is a definite winner!
(4)Danielle D.
Love this place! Not only is it at a great location (sought after Park Ave) but the food is GREAT! I've had the chicken satay and golden purses appetizer and both were great. I'm guilty of only getting the pad thai each time but it is so delicious I can't help it! Great ambiance in the restaurant which makes it a cute spot for a quiet date night. I've also had the beer tower which is fun! I first tried this place maybe a year and a half ago with a livingsocial/groupon deal, and I've gone back since several times! Great find.
(4)Cassidy L.
Loved it.The restaurant has an entire GLUTEN FREE MENU and everything is absolutely delicious. The service was great, the atmosphere was beautiful. This is perfect for a date or a nice lunch with friends. I will definitely be going again.!
(5)Kathy D.
Just went here a couple weeks ago because there was a groupon special for $15 you get $30. The place is small and overprice Thai food even though its on park ave. Had the Curry Puffs as an appetizer, definitely missing something, like a sauce to go with it. all it comes with is a tomato and cucumber salad. Had the Thai Beef Salad. Steak on it was okay, but salad was seriously lacking dressing which made it dry. My Boyfriend had the garlic prawns, which might as well change to garlic shrimp. Not what we expected at all. I probably enjoyed the Thai Ice Tea over everything else. Service was also slow as well. Took 10 minutes just to get the menu. Very disappointing visit.
(2)Ali H.
We stopped by on a weekend for lunch. We had the spring rolls for an appetizer. I liked the filling, lots of veggies and mushrooms, which was a nice addition. I ordered the chicken pad thai and my husband had the basil thai fried rice. The food was good, nothing amazing, but very tasty. It was all a pretty presentation, with orchids and garnish on all the plates and wrapped around the straw that came with my Thai tea. It is somewhat pricey for Thai food, but it IS Park Ave. in Winter Park. You come to expect that. Not a bad place for Thai food overall. The location is great, you can sit outside or inside and enjoy the view of Park Ave. The "mom and pop" who own the place were wandering about, talking to the customers, which was a nice touch. The only problem was that they only had 2 waiters; one who seemed to be handling the outside tables (all 3 of them) and one inside. Although we were there and seated first and the server seemed to be attentive, as soon as a table of about 8 came in, we were ignored. There was only our table and the group. Not sure if the waiter figured his tip was going to be better with the 8-top or knew the people or what... But it was off-putting to say the least when you rack up a $35+ bill on lunch. Honestly, if you want Thai food that is just as good at about half the price, try Thai House on Colonial near the Colonial/Bumby intersection. The owners were very sweet, but the staff was a bit snobby.
(3)Carla D.
My fiance and I went here today and what was supposed to be a nice day out turned into me lying in bed thinking if I should go to the hospital. The waitress was very nice and the food was fine, nothing too special, but roughly an hour after eating I began feeling ill. I went to a nearby restroom and almost passed out from pain and had all the usual gross symptoms of food poisoning. My fiance had to bring the car around to grab me and rush me home. After getting back he called the restaraunt to let them know what dish it was if in case they found a pattern in people saying something about the food. The manager got immediately defensive, saying that my being sick was all in my head and that it takes more time than that to get food poisoning. We were shocked at how rude and unprofessional management was. It was either the food, which would be the obvious conclusion, or the orchid flower they place right in the middle of the plate, which our waitress even admitted they wash and reuse them through out the day. That already was a red flag. I definitely will not be coming back here and would not recommend anyone go and risk getting sick; you'll get no sympathy from their management.

We sometimes go to Winter park to walk around just to get out of the house. We decided to venture out and try this Thai restaurant. Great place, we sat outside, food was good. Nothing really stood out but I would go back one day just because of the area.

Love this plus! It's such a nice set up, I love the lights outside and the orchids on the tables and on the dishes. The owner is charming, the management is awesome, and all the servers I've had are awesome. The food is also delicious but very spicy to an American so be careful! I recommend the ribs, the chicken pad thai, the red curry, and for an appetizer- the golden purses are always a treat. This place always has me coming back, best Thai in the area!

This is one of my favorite places to get Thai food. I work very close to here so my friend and I come here often when we want to get away from the office. I have tried a couple different dishes here and everything is excellent!! It is located at one end of Park Ave., but it is great to sit outside because there isn't a whole lot of foot traffic bothering you while you eat. The wait staff is great! They accidentally mixed up my order once; our waitress apologized and took it back to the kitchen to make sure it was corrected. In the meantime they brought me out an order of spring rolls, on the house, to tide me over until my meal was fixed. They are a little pricy, but nothing outrageous--it is Park Ave. so that's to be expected.

What a HUGE disappointment! My friend and I decided to try this place for lunch, thinking that we could check out a new Thai place in a trendy part of Winter Park. The restaurant itself was not busy, but there were only two people working. It took our server 20 minutes to stop by and give us water. It took another 20 minutes for her to take our order. Then it took another 20 minutes for us to get our first appetizer. We ended up being there for an hour and a half and we didn't even get to eat there...we had to take our entrees to go. I was so upset at the lack of service and attention to time that I asked for the manager. The manager wasn't there. So I let the server know that I thought the service was unacceptable and would she please pass on my feedback to the manager? I also left a note on my receipt with my complaint so that hopefully someone would notice. All the other tables in the place were getting tired and restless as well. I will never try this place again. I've never been so disgusted with such a lack of service! And, the entree wasn't good, either!

If you want amazing, different, adventurous, this is the place to go! Their golden purses (crab rangoon) were delicious. Little purses crisped to perfection with a gooey cream cheese and crab concoction in the center. pair it with their sweet pepper sauce and it will create this explosion of flavor in your mouth! Next I had their pad thai with chicken. Again another amazing dish. It is a simple dish bursting with flavor and texture. ordered it Mild and still had a kick. And finally i had their Param Chicken. I tell you, this has to be the most delicious chicken thai infused plate I've ever had. Thinly sliced chicken infused with indian-sweet flavors topped over seasoned sauteed spinach (the spinach was perfectly cooked, it wasn't slimy or wilted) and some jasmin rice on the side (i would have probably gone with the coconut rice just to add more tropical taste to the dish) The service was great, they were very attentive but not overly annoying. I went on a friday around 6 and it was kind of empty but got packed within 1 hour. Nice area, ifyou go on the weekends for lunch you can eat and then walk around all the shops on Park Ave. Definitly a place to go during the fall when its colder outside since they have outside seating that overlooks park ave.

I thought everything was meh, and the prices were high. Some menu items are not served in the traditional way as well. Not one of my favorites in town, you can do much better elsewhere.

We had dinner here the other night and it was OK. Ambience was nice being that it is right on Park Ave and the weather was nice enough so we sat outside. I had the Crispy Chicken Rolls as an appetizer, courtesy of checking in via Yelp, woot! They were pretty tasty and the plum sauce that came with it complimented it really well. My wife had a couple of the appetizers as her meal. The Golden Purses (crab and cream cheese puffs)which she deemed really creamy and good, and the Curry Puffs which we both enjoyed. I had the chicken pad Thai for dinner which was just OK. I ordered it with medium spice looking for hint of spice, but overall it was pretty bland. There are a couple of other Thai restaurants around Orlando that I would go to next time before coming back here. Service was pretty good even though they only had a couple of servers working on a busy night.

One of the best places we've been in awhile. I had the thai basil fried rice with soft shell crabs. It was really wonderful! The crab was delicate and crunchy. The rice was flavorful and not overdone. My husband had the thai basil sautee with the duck. The duck was perfectly cooked. He really enjoyed it. He also has celiac and needa a gluten-free entree. Our server Annie was wonderful, very knowlegeable and able to describe what entrees were gluten-free or could be. Highly recommend this restaurant.

My new favorite place :)

I got the Pad Thai and it was absolutely terrible! It tasteded like noddles covered in hot sauce, but it didn't even have the slightest hint of spice or much flavor for that matter. I would never go here again! Beyond disappointed!

I had a great experience at Orchid Thai Cuisine. I ate here for the first time earlier this year. Service was good, food tasted great, and the drinks were reasonably priced. I forgot to check in while I was there so I didn't know about free app as check in deal, but I'll be back soon to redeem it. I ate with a decent size group outside. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share. I remember the chicken satay being really good. I had the beef pad thai for dinner and it was solid. Ordered it hot and it had just the right amount of kick. Our group had a great time and I would recommend this place to any one that likes Thai food. Also had some of their food at an event at the WP Farmer's Market. It was yummy. I am looking forward to going back to the restaurant to try some of the other items.

Overrated - I guess it's good for Florida but not for me.

The duck sautée Thai Basil was amazing. Biggest portion of duck I have ever experienced with a meal, and the taste was phenomenal - very meaty and not real greasy like I have experienced at other places. Also the Green Curry was delicious, I ordered the shrimp and they were huge and numerous. Everything had great flavor - only thing was the spiciness. I ordered my meal medium (ranking being mild, medium, hot and Thai hot) and was disappointed that it really wasn't that spicy. But after speaking with the waiter we were given a side of spices - red pepper flakes, sriracha and Thai peppers in fish sauce - so between these condiments I got to spice my meal up to my exact preference. I highly recommend this place! And such a good location right on Park Ave!
(5)Toni M.
Excellent! I recommend the Pad Thai. It has a sweet flavor to it. I ordered it medium and it still was not spicy enough. I would defiantly go with the hot if you are looking for that touch of spice. The donuts for dessert were amazing.

Yummy food, great saki, and awesome live music on Thursday nights!

I had a Groupon for Orchid ($30) and also heard great things about it so, we went there for dinner last night. I love Thai food and was very impressed. The place was small and cozy, great for the double date night we were on. I ordered the Basil Sautee with shrimp and it was sauteed with basil, garlic, crushed red peppers, onion, and bell peppers. It was delish and, they even made it gluten-free for me! The flavors blended perfectly together. The server also brought out some hot sauces/chili flakes that could be added to make your meal more spicy. The owner asked how our meal was after we were done. It was a very authentic place with great service. I will definitely go back!

This place is very good. Its expensive, but very good. The owner is awesome. The food is authentic. The ambiance is intimate and nice. The food service is amazing. Caters to vegan and gluten free people, which is amazing. If you are celiac or vegetarian, this is your place. My husband is gluten-intolerant and we went twice. He did not get glutened b/c they work hard to make sure its done right.

After the Concours ended last weekend and the crowds dispersed, we had Park Avenue almost to ourselves. The coffee shops were closing since it was after six on a Sunday, so we decided to try Orchid Thai since there were vegetarians in our party. We sat outside and enjoyed the cool autumn air. The staff was very friendly and attentive, not a whiff of attitude. The peanut salad was excellent, and the pad thai was the best I've had in Orlando (this includes SEA Thai and Thai Villa). The red curry was very good. Presentation was excellent. For a Park Avenue restaurant, the prices were reasonable. Everyone in our party of eight (including three small children) enjoyed their food and the atmosphere. I complimented the chef on our meal, and the server later told me that she brought her mother's recipes from Thailand, and grows all the Thai spices used in the restaurant in her back yard. I was surprised they didn't advertise their use of locally grown produce, but now you know. We'll definitely go back.

I was just there last night for a work dinner. 20+ people. We had a really great experience. Annie was super nice and the food was delicious. She recommended several of the appetizer samplers, which worked out well for us. I had the pad Thai- which was filling and awesome. They have Singha beer- which accompanied my dinner well. Do yourself a favor and get the coconut ice cream for dessert. Annie's mom makes from scratch- in small batches. Great experience.

Third time was not a charm. The first time I tried, it was just ok, not the worst, for sure not the best, and service was slow and the waiter brought us the wrong order. I was not bothered the first time he got mixed up(I know that no one is perfect), but it happened a few times. I tired the restaurant again during the Winter Park Art and Jazz fest of spring 2014, the service was extremely slow, which I chalked up to the festival, but it wasn't very crowded, my friend and I both sent back our main dishes because it just didn't taste right, but the soup and salad tasted fine. I decided to try again tonight for the third(and turned out to be the final time) I sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender, who is a super nice and friendly person. I ordered the shrimp spring rolls, which had no shrimp, ordered soup(which they did special make for me, since I was the only customer) which I did like, but the tofu was really mushy. I almost felt bad about telling the server about my disappointment, because he was such a nice person. He and I did chat about the food for a bit and he did explain that there are many different regions of Thailand and everyone makes the food differently. I agreed with him, but the food was just not that great. He did offer me a coupon for a free appetizer on my next visit, which I did appreciate, until I looked at the restaurant's website and realized that anyone who comes in can get a free appetizer with the printed coupon, proof of the downloaded app or Yelp check in. Maybe a comped wine or a dessert would have worked ;-) In my opinion, this restaurant just is not worth the hassle of parking around Park Ave or the Park Ave price.

Coming from LA was pleasantly surprised by this little gem. Location is perfectly delightful. The staff sometimes needs prompting but are very obliging. The food was the perfect blend of flavors and the portions are very generous.
(5)Jay J.
I was scared reading the other reviews! Here is the story...my wife bought the Groupon w/o checking any reviews. I looked on this page and was worried about our visit. Thankfully, it was excellent. Food was excellent, drinks were good, and the prices were the same as any other high end Thai restaurant. In fact, they were reasonable given the Park Ave. location in Winter Park! Sticky rice was authentic, Sake was a tasty blend, portions were a bit small but the great flavors made up for it. If the waitress was a bit more attentive with drinks and taking away plates, I would have given 5 stars. Will go back if we are in that area.
(4)Tammy B.
The food at Orchid is delicious. The flavors are fresh and distinctive, not like other Thai restaurants that serve dishes where the flavors are muddled. Other Thai restaurants serve dishes that taste like home-cooked, Orchid serves dishes that taste chef-inspired. The prices are very reasonable considering the caliber of the food and the location of the restaurant.

Yum! This was the best meal of my entire trip. Ok from the top. We sat inside because we were terribly sun burnt by this point in our trip. The decor is very fresh & beautiful but not over done so it doesn't feel pretentious. We were the first diners of the day so we were greeted by the friendly staff - ask for Amanda she is awesome - super nice - super knowledgeable - and made some awesome wine & food recommendations for us that did not disappoint. She even kept in mind the food allergy that mentioned that one of the people in our group had and made sure what they ordered was ok. The ambiance was nice, the music was grooving in the background but was soft and not distracting. Even when the place was almost full you could still causally chat without a lot of background noise. So if you enjoy eaves-dropping on other table's convos this may not be the joint for you. Anyway on to the food. We had a few of the appetizers. One which I cannot remember the name of which was a plate full of different fixings for you to stuff/wrap into lime leaves - super tasty! The others were the calamari which I was told were good (sorry I can say for myself I don't eat things that breathed water :P ) and the dumplings - yum! For our entrees we had the beef with basil - very tasty - we should have ordered it spicy but we were being cautious. The chicken dish I ordered I believe he Loeb(sp?) chicken was awesome, savory and spicy served in crisp cabbage leaves. Our last dish was the ribs I believe. Those were good what I tried, I am not a big fan of ribs in general and the sauce was a little sweet for me but still good. Over all we had wonderful time - good food, good service, good weather, what else could you ask for in FL when on vacation? I will definitely go back if/when I am down in the area again.

This place, is a unique little gem. The staff were very friendly and the food was great. Not to mention the romantic atmosphere. I will defiantly be going back there again.

Pretty and delicious soft shell crab and mango salad. Appetizer sampler was ok. Both, a bit pricey.

What a charming restaurant! We were a party of six and ordered a variety of dishes and everyone raved about their food. I had the Praram chicken--absolutely delicious dish of chicken marinated in coconut milk then sautéed and served over spinach with jasmine rice. The seasoning was perfect, with just a hint of spiciness. My husband had Panag (spelling?) curry with duck. I'm not too fond of duck, but this was wonderful. The service was great and the ambiance was super--orchids on each plate of food as well as orchid plants on each table. A lovely spot for date night or for a group of friends.
(4)Bob D.
Food was really good. I had green curry with tofu,Thai hot -- and it was delicious. My wife had an excellent salad with chicken ( forgot the name) that she really liked. Sitting outside in the evening offered a lovely ambience. Service was on par with the rest of our experience.

This place was so slow, overpriced and EMPTY that I would never go here again. I had a friend I had not seen for 10 years take the train to see me, so we were on a tight schedule. It was a sunny Saturday, the streets packed with Winter Park shoppers, and I hadn't made a reservation. it was 12:30 and every other restaurant EXCEPT this one had a 20 minute wait, which we didn't think we had have time for. Right..... Now, This restaurant was almost empty - just 3 tables filled with diner - with TWO waiters. AND IT TOOK 30 MINUTES TO GET US OUR LUNCH WITH NO APOLOGY OR REASON OFFERED -plus we had to bug them to bring it. AND they had no lunch menu because it was Saturday so lunch for 3 people came to $60.00 IN A THAI restaurant. Not impressed. And I was visting from Seattle where we have a plethora of restaurants. The portions were small and the food was very unimpressive. Wait the 20 minutes somewhere else. This place deserves to be empty.

Awesome Thai food! The duck basil sautee is phenomenal!!!
(4)Amir J.
I had this to go. It was really good! Had the red curry. It was packed with flavor. I will definitely go back for more.
(3)Bachi A.
Food was only mediocre. Service was slow & owner refused to honor the online coupon.
(1)Amadis G.
The service is lovely, the food is very average for a Thai Rest. Maybe, arriving from San Francisco, the food needs improving for sure. Nice hosts though.
(2)Irina B.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Orlando / Winter Park. The food is excellent. Every dish we tried, is like a home cooked meal, full of flavor and spices. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The menu has all the gluten free and vegetarian items well marked. The waiters are also knowledgeable. There are so many choices to choose from. I've been coming here for several years, and there hasn't been a single dish I didn't like. Some of my favorites are massaman curry, pad thai, summer rolls as an appetizer, and mango sticky rice for dessert. You can get the main course either mild, medium or hot. The owner grows orchids, and sells them there as well - at a good price. They also put a fresh orchid flower to decorate every meal. The setting is beautiful. It's located on Park Ave in Winter Park with an option of outdoor seating.
(5)John M.
Very good food, nice service and a reasonable price. A nice place for a meal on Park Ave.
(4)Anthony T.
We were there for lunch on April 26th. We opted for appetizers, so that we could experience the different flavors. Started with Shrimp wonton soup; which was very simple and delicious. Spring rolls and lettuce wraps were next. Both items were superb. Chicken satay and a summer roll were truly delightful. This family owned place knows what they are doing. Annie, our server and the owners daughter suggested we try her Mother's home made ice cream with Jack fruit. What a treat. The red curry/peanut salad dressing was one of the best we ave ever had; and we took a pint home for $5.00
(4)Kurt H.
I read several reviews saying that service was a bit slow. While I was the during off hours, 3:45, service was very good. If they can continue this level of service during busy hours, I would have to say that the service issues have been fixed. Food was also very good. I would not say it was stellar, which makes the price point just a bit on the high side for the food. We had the golden purse appetizer, red curry beef, and drunken noodles. Food was prompt, spiced as ordered, and very good.
(4)Kelly F.
Much like an orchid, Orchid Thai Cuisine is a very simple, yet beautiful little restaurant with a menu to match. The outside and inside decor are very fresh, with lots of black and white throughout. Their menu isn't very extensive, which could be a problem if you're a picky eater or new Thai food. However, what they do have is not bad. The portions are not too large and could be finished in one sitting. Flavor wise, it's average...not the best, but not the worst. For an appetizer I recommend the beef skewers with the peanut sauce. For a main course the pad Thai noodles are probably your best bet because its what they specialize in...and what is ordered most. The other dishes are similar to a stir fry and pretty good when served over rice. The prices are not cheap, but not too expensive either...in the middle if you will. The waiters are good at their jobs and stay on top of everything for the most part. Overall, I'd go back if I were in the area, but wouldn't drive out of my way to go there.
(3)Rob J.
This place is right around the corner from my house and is one of the places that I take people to eat when they come visit me. Although its small it has a very cozy and upscale feel to it. I would highly recommend eating outside as Winter Park is beautiful. Everything I have tried on their menu has been delicious but my favorite by far is the Larb chicken. If you like spicy food then ask for any of the dishes to be prepared 'thai spicy', you won't be disappointed.
(4)Julia K.
Based on a dinner with mom. I visit my mom in Orlando often enough that we eat out... Alot... This was a Monday night with balmy weather so we sat outside. There were two other tables outside with guests when we arrived, one new group of guests came as we were finishing up. + 1 Star - Dang, how delicious was that Thai Iced Tea. It seems like a little thing, but it is harder than it seems to make this stuff just right. $2 per glass? A bit steep. - 1 Star - Prices. See above. Keep reading for more. + 1 Star - Appetizers. That was all mom wanted so all she got. And they were dang good. The Summer Rolls were delicious, light vermicelli wrapped up in a rice pancake wrap and a tasty sauce. However, two rather small ones for $4 - seems a bit steep as they had neither meat nor shrimp in them. The $6 Curry Puffs were great according to my mom. I can't speak to them as I didn't taste them, but she described them as being a bit Indian in flavor but without the dense-ness of a samosa. She loved the dipping sauce for that one too, laden as it was with fresh chunks of cucumber. -1 Star - Service. Again, like another recent Orlando eating out experience, I was dismayed that the server, though sweet as pie, couldn't multitask even in a nearly empty establishment. I asked for one thing special - brown rice versus white. Yeah, she blew that. Okay, she apologized profusely, but... So? It still meant that I had to wait 5 minutes. Not a big deal in the global world of waiter disasters, but a bit lame. And who was the kid sitting at the bar inside talking loudly to his friend on the cell phone? If he is part of the owners' cadre, he should pitch in, or go sit down the block and yak on the mobile. The only one who was busting his butt was the guy I saw glimpses of in the kitchen. He looked busy.... + 1 Star - Outside seating. Cannot be spoken to enough how lovely this is in a town such as Winter Park. Sitting outside, watching the world go by and eating good food are simple joys. +1 Star - The curry. I know, having cooked it, that green curry is easy to cook. Then why is delicious curry like this so dang amazing. It was $14 for Green Shrimp Curry but.... I had 8 shrimp in my succulent little bowl full of fresh veggies and creamy, heady sauce. I only had this dish - no starter and no dessert and hours later I am still satiated from the complexity of the sauce, the freshness of the veggies. I would go back for this sauce alone - maybe they would sell me the "juice" to take home and add to my own ingredients? Hmmmmm. All in all, I would go back to Orchid. I don't know if they have a lunch menu with any sort of specials, but I would go back and try. And as far as the service goes, it needs polish but not a French Revolution. I believe people should be given props for trying - and the taste alone of the sauces and freshness of the food will win most people over past the service.
